Just wanted to give big props to my new Nitto Terra Grappler 265/75/16s. It has been a monsoon the last 24 hrs in my town and they have performed amazing. No fishtailing while in RWD, just tear thru the wet with no problem. I cant wait to drive these in the snow.

those are AMAZING TIRES, i had a set on my defender, not once on any terrian did i slip, i drove though 8in of snow in them, like it was dry pavement.

I'm running toyo h/t 245/75/16 right now and there a good tire and all but i have my eye set on a pair of terra grapplers. It's amazing how many good things i've heard about these tires especially how they act in snow and rain!
 
I'm also looking into a new set of tires. As of right now the nittos seem to give good results based on other forum members. 2000runr thanks for posting first hand experiences with your tires hopefully when the time comes my decision making would be that much easier.
 
THAI hates the NTG's and only a couple others. However there are to many others that recommended them and I got a screaming deal on 5 of them. I have about 7k miles on mine and I am very happy with on and off-road performance so far. Heck I just drove the last week with them aired down at 25 with no problems. I went off-road aired down and then the stupid gas station to pump them up would only put 25 a tire in them. I forgot all about it until I looked at one and thought it was a little low and then it clicked "doh! I should fill them up huh".

I wasn't going to say anything, but that is complete bs. 8in snow being like dry pavement? No slipping on any terrain? Ha!! Unless the tires were wrapped in chains and had 5" spikes, you will slip. It will not be like driving on dry pavement. Even if you had full on snow tires, you will slip. And if you never slipped on any terrain, I'm guessing you never really wheeled it?

I'm not picking on NTG's. ANY tire will slip in those conditions. There is no tire that will just walk up anything. Please stop spreading this garbage.

ok it slipped on mulch on a steep hill, no i didnt wheel it much but it got a little of everything, but 8in of snow it cleared like nothing was there (like dry pavement), The Defender and Nittos are an amazing combo, No Joke, you cant really challenge that unless you try it.

Bwhaaa ha. I'm not going to comment, becauseb coming from the mouth of a Rover owner, it's about right. Jeep owner would also have sufficed.
