no 5th gen day

can we plan a day off of speaking about the 5th gen,
lets close the 5th gen forum for one day this week,
im sick and tired of the 5th gen already and he dame truck aint out
yet.

I'm not for or against the 5th T4R (because I can't replace my truck right now) but...

Welcome to the internet and the best "forum" to voice your constitutional right to free speech. Others also have that right.
You may not like change but change is good. Otherwise we would all still be driving black Model A's.
This isn't a model specific forum. I vote to keep the 5th Gen discussions going. You have the power to not view those threads. Just don't click on them.
 
You put a smile on my face today...I say that comment was funny and cute at the same time to me.....but honey...it is what it is. U can Just stay away from the forum for one day ...I think that would work better.
 
I feel so bad for the 4th gen,
its like when a new baby comes home the older kids gets neglected,

im sure the 4th gen must be feeling extremly jealous

My 4th gen is getting pampered 2.....I am shopping for taillights and rear weathertech floor liners...getting ready for the winter....

I wan to move to Texas
 
I still like my 3rd gen. very much. I take great care of it and look forward toward driving. My 4th gen. is great too. I really don't think them having a 5th gen. will cause me to up-grade. Heck, with the 3rd gen. getting older, maybe we will see less around and it will be more of a classic.

Not my 4th gen... it gets loved like the only child, even though it's got two other siblings from the Toyota clan. It gets garage parking, so no love loss for my 4th even with the 5th's debut. If I pick up another Toyota, I'm almost certain, the 4th will still be garaged.

I'll let you hold me to it, when the new Toyota joins the family and my 4th is neglected. ;):
 
Newer is NOT always better. In fact, it often isn't.

I think I would rather have a 3rd generation, they look way better, and if my old Tacoma was any indication, it would have had a better "feel" to it as well, but where I live model year & the number of years spent in salty winter conditions forced me to choose the newest one I could get.

The 3rd Gen. definitely has better styling. In the 4th Gen's defense, I will say the old 3.4L V6 was severely underpowered, a problem which the 4.0 L V6 doesn't share.
 
I love my 5th Gen. It rides great has that unique look to it and all the modern conveniences.

**oh wait I am the 5th owner(generation) of my 3rd gen..lol and someday when I am rich i am going to find a way to put the 4.0L V6 in my 3rd gen
 
thanks for giving some love to the 4th and 3rd gen, there going threw alot right now (u know with the 5th gen in town) they need our support
 
Shit, I love my 2nd gen. She's be paid for for 19 years, has had few problems other than the usual alternator, water pump, etc, hauls me and mine wherever we want to go, and still looks damn good, I think. Toyota made a good truck that keeps going. I could trade her in for a new one if I wanted, but there's no need to. If I ever need to replace her I'll probably look for a 3rd gen, at least then I can still get a goddamn manual trans.
 
I agree with those who would rather have the 3rd gen.

IMHO, the style of the 3rd gen's body has been the best so far. The interior is nice and the overall size of the vehicle is perfect. The 3rd gen's reliability has also been proven over the years.

I think that the 5th gen is overall a nice vehicle, but I would keep my 3rd gen any day over a 5th gen.

Very true. I am old enough to remember owning cars in the 1960's and 70's. In the 70's, I thought what the heck is going on. Cars got worse and worse, I am glad the 70's are gone.

I do like all the new safety equipment, but looking at the new "no key" start, all I can think of is, just another thing to break down. I saw a English TV show called "Auto Trader" and they had this Fiat and it was considered a "Clunker" and could we spot it. Well, it turned out that someone lost the original "special" key and was going to cost 1,250 pounds to get it right and the car was worth 1,500 pounds. Basically a total lost.

You can thank the Government & it's poor implementation of emissions controls combined with the insurance industry efforts for that decline.
The first oil price shock in 1973 (or was it 5?) didn't help, either, but by then the decline was already well underway.
