No Water Spots After Washing...a trick...

Since folks are posting stuff about "TRD stickers adding horsepower" thought I might post something a little more practical here.

Some of you might already do this but after I wash my truck down, rather than towel dry her off, I use a leaf blower......leaves no water spots....

Helps if you keep a good wax on your rig......water just rolls and blows right off....takes only a few minutes....beats pushing a towel around on her....

Also you can just flood rinse instead of spraying the soap off. Its 90% dry in seconds (if it has wax on it.) Takes 5 minutes to finish the dry.

Good thing about a leaf blower is that it blows all that "hidden water" out of the emblems, wipers, door handles and side mirrors. You can dry with a towel and then when you drive off, all that water comes running over your truck and spots it up and that kind of defeats the purpose of washing her up to begin with....

I use Duragloss Aquawax. Best stuff ever! Keeps it having a "wet" look. Duragloss Aquawax

I just got a jug of the Duragloss rinseless with aquawax. They had a decent sale during black friday so it was cheap and free shipping. I havent tried it out yet but heard good things.

Just make sure you blow out all the dust and stuff that's settled into the blower before you point it at your car.... Learned that mistake the hard way and had to rewash :frusty:

I have always been mystified and skeptical of "no water car wash" products. I always pressure wash my rig before hand washing. I do this because the dirt on the surface can act like sandpaper on the finish.

How do these "waterless" car wash concotions work? Forgive my stupidity...guess I am stuck in old school zone.

My girlfriend uses this waterless shampoo crap and I think it is just NASTY. Guess that has prejudiced me about using it on my real loyal lady (my 4Runner)......

I'm not quite getting the concept, could you come over and demonstrate this technique on my truck? Don't forget to bring the wax...

Speaking of wax, I've never used the spray stuff so can't speak to it's effectiveness, but I question how long it will last unless it's applied frequently or over a good base wax.

I've tried a lot of different waxes over the last 30 plus years, and none of them have come close to lasting as long as the Collonite 476.
