I am seriously laughing out loud at the thought of someone running studded tires in NJ. A good set of winter tires and 2WD is all you need there.

If you ever lived in the northwest corner of the state you wouldn't be laughing, Thank you for the thoughtful post though.

I lived in northern NJ for 30+ years and used to mountain bike the highest points of northern NJ even during winter. I can't remember a single time when winters tires+2WD wouldn't cut it on unplowed roads. Heck the only time I've used 4WD in Jerz was for deep sand at Island Beach State Park or mud runs in the Pine Barrens. I didn't even run studded tires on my mountain bike during winter.

NJ barely gets any snow and the marginal benefits of studded tires over winters for 0.05% of the time makes me chuckle. But hey it's your truck so enjoy the loud and obnoxious ride all winter!
