Anyone up for Badlands at some point in the next week or three?

Hey! I’ve been on a pretty big hiatus here while I worked on my GX460 build. I’m just waiting on my sliders now but she’s ready to roll. I’d gladly join you and any other 4Runners who are interested. Keep me posted on your schedule and let’s see if we can put something together!

This weekend I'm running some work teams for our monthly maintenance, but either of the next two weekends would work for me.

I'm up for it. But, not until mid- to late-September, probably. We're in NC now. Then, Labor Day weekend, we're dropping Thing II off at college in Denver, camping in WY for a few days, then visiting family in MT. I imagine the weekend in between will be busy as all get out. I'm dying to see what my "new" 4Runner can do, especially if there's somebody else available to save my dumb butt! I'll ping you or reply here.

I'm usually good for almost any weekend as long as I can put it together like a week or two in advance.

I've been limited by running solo for every trip I've made, usually with the woman and toddler in the back so my risk level is kept insanely low. Would love to not be terrified of getting stuck for once...

I wouldn’t mind joining. Easy trails though. I have the jeep for rock crawling. Trying to keep the t4r in good condition

Badlands is great because there’s a ton of diversity in terrain there. You can run trail through the woods, open area mudding, sand dunes or rock quarry. It can be as easy or challenging as you’d like, within reason for Indiana of course.

This is usually me, too. It’s always so much better with a group. My Runner always amazed me when I was able to get out and push it more.

With proper tires and know-how, I’ve seen 2WD rigs hang with 4WD rigs in moderate conditions. You may surprise yourself plus a group is the best way to find out!

And yes, you are literally one of the only 2WD units I’ve seen. That makes you kinda special I guess. Haha

So, I'm going to officially throw out the 4th and the 11th of September as dates.

The 11th would certainly be much better for me, but I think I can make either work. The 4th is Labor Day weekend, so might be crazy, but might also be easier for folks to get an extra day of free time.

I'll drop a post in the general off road forum as well if there's interest from this group.

No serious rock crawling for me, but I'd be up for the rest. I don't have a winch or traction aids, but do have recovery gear (boards, strap, rope, shackles, and shovel).

Nice!

My better half is my spotter, she's pretty damn decent at it. She's also well versed predicting which stupid mistake I'll make on the way. She might come, depends if we can find someone to watch the little monster or not.

Literal rock crawling, not my thing, though I certainly want to push a bit harder than I would normally when it's just me, her and the 3yr old and no cell service. That's a pretty low bar, quite frankly. I've got some maxtrax and a decent recovery kit, if we require something outside of that, I've probably made a stupid mistake as mentioned above...
