NOTE TO RACCOONS : you should not base dive onto 3rd gen 4runners

So I'm on top of somebodies 2 1/2 story roof inspecting it for an insurance claim. Ran into a raccoon which I do on occasion. Usually they scurry away to their normal exit route off a tree branch. This fatty had to be like 20 pounds, and was spooked enough to take a mission impossible spread eagle dive off this high roof. I think this guy realized he F'd up on the long decent which ended in a smashing bang onto the 32 ft ladder on my roof rack. He scurried away on the ground in shame. Hopefully the injuries are survivable. No dents on my roof, saved by the ladder.

Those shingles have seen better days, not much $$ to be had from insurance on them if they pro-rate.

I signed up for Eagleview/Essintial inspections earlier this year for some side work. Watched several hours of vids, spent $50 on that shingle gauge, did one job and got an email that they were "adjusting" payscale, which of course worked out to be a ~25% cut - assuming I even had cell service to do the video chat. So if anyone needs a shingle gauge... hwell:

Ouch. Any blood on the roof? Hopefully the bugger survives but a crushed 3rd gen roof is not an easy DIY.

Nope roof's are a nightmare to repair. I have one with hail damage from this summer. I am still debating how to repair it.

Yeah, its crap organic shingles probably 50 yrs old, I inspected this roof also in 2014, told them is was junk then. They're not getting $ for this roof. People putting in claims for this are out of their minds. I'm an independent roof inspector and I do other stuff too, I do a 50/50 split on the total roof inspection charge. I just use an old school cheap aluminum shingle gauge and analog pitch gauge.

Put in an insurance claim, should be covered. Worth it if its over your deductible.

You know what - I bet that lil' bugger was hoping the sunroof was open so he could drive away in your 3rd gen!
