Now THAT'S 4runner though!

the web page says you can use your stock shocks, but just be careful that you dont flex too much, otherwise you will be using your shocks as your limiting factor, which is never good IMO

Yeah I'd be sure and keep it on road until all the necessary parts are installed. I just want the 3" even moreso after the ARB! WOO! haha i'm so pumped you have no idea. Runner up, do you know of a writeup for removing the stock bumper? I hear the install instructions are straightforward, but its step one that I'm in the dark about. Also, I hope nothing other than the bumper was damaged, bent out of place, etc. That would SUCK to find out after taking the bumper off and all

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got done ordering the bumper and everything! should have them by late next week. This wait is going to kill me. Oh, and I'm out $1010.01 haha, they had to throw that penny in.

Got the motherload today! Had to pick it up FedEx Freight in Savannah, but oh well whatever saves me 100 bucks in shipping. Anyways, here's the beast right when I got it in my house

came across a few bumps during installation. everythings fine but i need a grinder to sand down this damn flange on the frame. that and the damn blinkers (indicators) will not go in snugly, no matter what way i put them in. anyways, had to stop installation for the night, we have a social tomorrow night so installation is pushed back till this sunday. until then i have to drive in this goofy looking bumperless runner.

random question:

my buddy swears to me the lights (actually referred to as DRIVING LIGHTS) that are mounted on the TJM/ARBs are completely illegal to use on-road....I was under the impression if aimed correctly these were perfectly legal. Anyone?

You use those lights around town it'll get you a ticket even if they are considered driving lights. For one they are extremely bright and are really supposed to be used off road and they are mounted too high for the street.

Look both ways and brake early if you are going to be crusing around w/o your front bumper and look out for Sunfires.

yeah i got pulled over this morning for having no front bumper. long story short hes giving me 24 hours to get one back on. hitting quite a few bumps on the install trying to drill/grind right now to get the damn mounting brackets on but things are definitely coming together. will post update in a hour or so

Now there's a really good reason to work on your car. "Honey, I've got to work on my ride, the PoPo said so." :D

got the bumper semi-secured last night. i need a torque wrench to to the last bolts so after its all the way on i'm washing her and taking a million glamour shots. here's one to hold you over.

oh, and by the way, the bumper dropped my stance .2 inches, if that! Pretty good considering I'm running stock shocks replacing my tin can 20 pounder with the 150 lb arb

Nice to see it all worked out for you, from the accident to this. Now you just have to avoid the temptation to 'nudge' other cars in traffic....
Very hard to see the bar in the pics, try facing the car towards the sun.

sorry about the quality, cell phone cam and sunny days do not go together. i'll get a nice cam by the end of the day for some pretty ones

Nice job RooRRunner. Im likin the ARB bumper. Techno try adjust your gamma or contrast, because I can see the bumper just fine.

i'll get some better pics up soon but just picked up a set of 16x8 rockcrawlers sitting on 31 interco super swampers

haha that was the very first thing i did to my rig after i purchased it. i think they look pretty nice, all i've heard is compliments.....well, until you :bash: hahaha just kiddin man.

I hear ya.... i think it is just because it is only two...maybe two more and it would look right... in fact thats what it is.... add a couple more! hehe

i don't have 190 to drop on another pair so right now its staying this way.

i don't know if anyone has super swampers on their 4rs but DAMN these things are terrifying! it's definitely a bumpier ride but i think its a fair trade for the, in my ears, pleasant road noise. i would never purchase these, although i'm happy they came on the wheels. the front two are like new and the back two are like....old. as soon as they're not drivable anymore i'm putting the 265/75s on again...unless i have some more money to get some new shoes. the 265s have about 1.5 inches of height on the 31x12.50s....my tires look huge once they were OFF the car haha
