I've noticed that occasionally in the first few miles of my morning commute that as I come to a stop on a downward slope, I may hear a click or slight thump sound. I don't really feel it, just hear it.
It only does it in the first few miles when I leave home in the morning, and I don't think I've ever noticed it in the afternoon leaving work. I only hear it when the truck shifts into 1st gear right as I come to a stop. Once warmed up, it doesn't happen.
Temperature outside doesn't seem to affect it.
I don't feel any kind of slip or any other indicator of a transmission issue. In fact, it's much more smooth in every other aspect than vehicles I've had in the past with 1/2 the miles on them.
I'm at 225,000 miles. At 201,000, I had the fluid changed and the fluid inspected with a 26 micron filter (I think that's right) at a local transmission shop and no abnormality was found.
Anyone familiar with what I'm describing? Is this something I should be concerned with or is it a simple fix? Is it even worth fixing?
