I just took out the 6-disc changer on my '03 T4R. It was hooked up to my oem nav/JBL system mounted in the center console. Since I was working on the truck I had to take out the center console I just took it out and don't plan on putting it back in as I rarely used it much lately. (I have CD in the head unit anyway and usually use that).
It still works fine, I tested it right before taking it out. Only issue is I hear what's likely a penny or something floating around in the case somewhere, but doesn't affect the functionality at all, I haven't taken it apart to get it out.
Toyota Part# 08601-00871, pic attached. I have no idea what other systems this will hook up to so you're on your own there, but I think it was a standard unit on various Toyota models per ebay search.
Make a reasonable offer & pay for shipping and I'll ship it to you or you can pick it up if in L.A. area. Thinking around $50-$100 from what I've seen...
