OEM Panasonic Battery- how long has yours lasted?

My 2003 4Runner was bought new in Nov. of 2002. I am still running the original battery!! It's going on 14 years.....and 153,000 miles. Anyone else?? I fully expect to get another year or so out of this one.

yea....not sure why I typed 14. That would be 12. Still....

I'm not too good at math, but I think it's going on 12 years.

I replaced my original Panasonic battery after 8 years, so 12 is pretty amazing!

I also bought my 4runner new and I replaced the battery last summer, so it lasted about 8.5 years. I took it into the dealership and they said it was on its way out, so decided to replaced it, I think it could have lasted a lot longer but didn't want to risk it.

Oh good lord! yea, 12. Not sure what number flickered through my skull to come up with 14? Probably so impressed with the longevity, I just automatically added a little bit. :der:

Wife's 2005 is still going 9 years, only 50,000 miles though...

08 and just replace it last year after 100,000 miles and added a second battery. tho I am sure my truck is used far more then most it not all of your trucks. My truck for work essentially while at work is running the whole time either from driving or idling so figure 14 hrs a day it is on, and when it is off during work the key is still turned on for the power hungry items inside.

05 lasted till last summer & when it went it was hot & I wanted a/c bad , no warning signs !!!!

I just replaced the one in my '06 with 86k miles. It still worked after 8 years, but was showings signs that it was on its way out and I didn't want to be left stranded in the cold.

Our '07 already had a new battery in it when we bought it 2 years ago, so it lasted less than 6 years, but I don't know the circumstances of why it was changed out.

'04 with 135k and still going. Been really cold here (-15) and she is cranking much slower, but it still turns over and starts. Was told 2 years ago that it was weak and should be replaced. . . yeah ok, not falling for that. I am going to keep it till it does die.

It still amazes me that people post mileage in reference to battery longevity. There is zero relevance to how many miles you have traveled in relationship to the length of time your battery has lasted.

This is the very reason why I replaced mine in June. I had about 95,000 miles on that battery. Triple digit heat is no fun without A/C.

Mine tested low at 7k so I replaced it under warranty before a trip from Sacramento To Anchorage

replaced it in my wife's 07 limited with 74K this past fall... not because it was bad, but because I wanted it as a trolling motor battery for my canoe... so I figured might as well get her vehicle a new battery before winter in the process...

I have a 2005 v6 with 120,000 miles on the original Panasonic battery and it started the car fine this winter with temps down to -24C

in your location it looks like don't start your car multiple times a day. In my case, I start my car maybe more than 6 times in a day. drives short distances all the time and sometimes long drives. my battery lasted around 8 years though. it could have been more if i did not forget my keys in the car and fully discharged it so i ended up buying another one. I still have my panasonic and is using it for jump starting and keeping it charged. it's loosing charge though.

Mine's still good, took it out after 5 years, and replaced it with an Optima yellow top :fro:

because we are detail oriented people. :bigok: for me in my case, even if it's not relevant, it's worth mentioning.

Just because mileage doesn't directly tie to the battery life, doesn't mean it's not relevent. It still indicates roughly how many starts the engine has had in it's life
