OEM Panasonic Battery- how long has yours lasted?

My truck was bought new in 2003 and I'm the 3rd owner just replaced mine this past summer @ 240,000 km after having to add distilled water to it. Then had it die on camping trip while out fishing at another lake about 10kms away. Luckily I got it started after taking the leads off and letting it sit for a bit and fished for a little came back hooked it back up. Just barely got it started drove back to camp grabbed my wallet and high tailed it to town about 40 kms away on logging roads (FSR) to pavement then another 20kms or so @ 7pm on a Sunday night when everything closes at like 8, 9 if your lucky.

Just replaced mine on my 2006 with 153000 miles.. started to have the weird rear wiper issue so i replaced it , since then no more problems

Anyone else have abs dim the headlights and or fogs? Thinking it might be the battery but I have an 09 so it should be fine but I don't know

I live in Florida. Just replaced mine 2 weeks ago. I have a 2007 with 66,000 miles on it. Bummed I had to let her go.

I have a 2004 V6 sport with the original battery (just over 175,000 miles for the detail oriented people). It has been starting up without a problem in the recent subzero northern IL weather. It is parked in the garage though.

05 lasted till last summer & when it went it was hot & I wanted a/c bad , no warning signs !!!!

Not even a warning from the battery grim reaper by way of the rear windshield wiper?

Nope, fired right up that morning ! But lasted along time, I was merely commenting on their longevity which is remarkable . So you know I don't even remember if wiper did but who cares great battery none the less !

I absolutely agree! I have never had a battery last this long. I was just teasing with the rear wiper. I haven't had it happen to me and I haven't even heard of such a thing until someone posted on this forum. I have to admit that I do watch for the rear wiper when I start it up now. My battery is 10 years old.

My battery just died (the original OEM Panasonic).

2004 4Runner, V6 SR5 4X4.

It died at 204,000 miles and lasted 10 years. Survived the Bozeman winter, and it was a LONG and cold winter. It started my 4Runner just fine with all of the sub-zero temps this winter, and even started up at West Yellowstone at -43 degree Fahrenheit a few times.

This weekend was the first real spring weekend we've had (almost seventy degrees and dry) and, of course, the battery dies and without warning.

What a great battery.

We got 9 years out of the OEM Panasonic. We have 9 years on the Exide in the other vehicle. I am expecting to do a change sometime soon but it holds charge and starts first time. The Panasonic would not start the vehicle if it had been sitting for over a week.

Mine lasted 10 years and over 100k.

And like others have said, it dies almost without warning. One day it suddenly starts slowly, the next day not at all.

usually they get a little worse and worse over a few weeks, but these really hold on forever then go quick

About 7 years and ~115,000 miles before I had a couple of "no starts" when running a refrigerator on a camping trip. As soon as I saw that the battery in my '07 had "Toyota" written on it I assumed it was the original battery and figured after 7 years it probably needed to be replaced, so I went to O'Reilly and got the biggest battery that would fit. Have had no problems with it even camping for several days while running the fridge (Indel-B TB-41/Truckfridge TF-41.)

In the Phoenix area. Purchased 07 new in May of 07. Summer of '09 it was toast. Optima red top since then, 5 years. The red top in my 85 4runner was purchased spring 2005. That's why I got another red-top. That Panasonic was physically HUGE, and heavy.

Just had my OEM Panasonic go out the morning after a 4-hour return trip. Original since new in 2005. One day worked great, next morning, done. Replaced with AutoZone 27F Duralast Gold. Same specs as OEM. Seems to have noticeably more juice (which I guess should since it's new).
