OEM vs. Monroe Aftermarket Shocks!

OK, I'm trying to decide which shock is better: Toyota OEM Brand or Monroe Senta-Trac Shocks? I want to replace my Toyota Brand shocks. I heard both side of their story of why their shocks are better. What do you think?:

I've heard that Monroe shocks were just OEM quality replacement shocks for Toyota. That was the case when shopping for shocks for my old 93 celica, not sure about the 4runner.

Go with Bilstein. I had them on my '99 4Runner. Firmed up the ride some and got ride of that floaty feeling.

I put a set of Monroe Reflex shocks on my Jeep Cherokee and the ride quality was increased based on OEM. I just put a set of Bilsteins on my 4Runner with new springs and the diff was night and day.
