I've been slowly 'finishing' the vehicle and the hood was basically the last step. So... as soon as I can, I'll get outside and take some pictures. Apparently Canadian winter decided to show up so it's a bit chilly out.

Stellar Blue Sport Hood For Sale in CT (attached to wreck)

There is currently an auction for a badly wrecked 2002 Stellar Blue Sport Edition 4WD 4Runner in Conneticut. Somehow the hood and grille were completely untouched as a result of the accident. The current bid is zero and the auction ends January 8th, 2015. Both the hood and the grille look to be in very good condition. I don't know how someone would get the hood other than having the winning bid on the entire vehicle. If a Stellar Blue owner in the Conneticut area got this 4Runner for under $1,000 you could probably sell the good parts for well over that and end up with a free Stellar Blue sport hood... and maybe even make some money in the process. The engine looks to be completely intact... it looks like it might crank. The current bid is $175.

I would like to have the grille.

Bought a sport hood from Surf Runner today, sanded it down with 320 then rattle canned it for a temporary paint job until I can afford to get it painted.

Agreed. Not sure what I'd do if I popped my scooped hood open to a 3.0l turbo diesel.

I can now officially post in this thread! My newly acquired sport hood.


I still need to paint the plastic scoop part a satin black and add mesh to match my Satoshi, but I love it. I can't wait to get my light bar back on, dye the front bumper plastics black again from the faded gray, either plastidip the chrome or paint it black, get my Raptor letters put on the grille when they come in, and my shackles mounted on the front and then I think the front end will be done. For now...

You have to promise to post an updated picture once you have finish adding everything!! Sounds like it will really look sharp!! For what it's worth...paint your chrome bumper. It will look soooo much better than Plasticdip...at least it did on mine. Just make sure you scuff up the chrome before you paint!

02-Sport, you've got two really clean sport models there. I like the rims on both and the sliders as well on the black one.

Don't worry, I will! I'll probably start a thread once I get the letters in because I haven't seen anyone do a Raptor grille on a 3rd gen. Mostly Tacomas and 5th gens. Right now I'm leaning more towards painting it too, even though I already have the plastidip. I'm just not sure what I want to paint them with and I'm a little worried about how it will hold on the bumper because the chrome is peeling along the top... It's not something I want to do twice because if I actually paint it I will pull the bumper all the way off this way I can work on just the chrome part.
