Official intro-H-TX T4R newb

Just joined the T4R owners family last year when I bought my wife a 2011 T4R SR5 4x4 in Nov 2013. I had at the time a 06 Tacoma base 4x2 2.7L which I loved but after driving her T4R realized I wanted my own. I just picked up this 2007 T4R Sport Ed 4x4 this past week. Looking forward to modding it! I want a simple 3" lift and rack with some BFG ATs. Well here is a pic of his and hers T4Rs........
Oh I live in Downtown Houston and believe it or not there is a such thing called urban off roading...other hobbies include motocross on my KTM300XC, supermoto debauchery on my KTM690SMC and trackdays on my Kawi ZX6R

Do you plan on a spacer lift or a true suspension lift?

Nice find with the 4x4 sport in Gray, thats very popular. While hunting for my 4R I kept finding way more choices in the Houston area. I just didn't want to invest 8 hours of driving to not find the right one.

Thanks guys....Im not sure what I want to do honestly. I live in south TX so there are no rocks to crawl so I dont need some crazy articulating suspension. Might just go with some coil overs instead of being cheap since the OEM shocks are probably at the end of thier service life.



A FI WR450 would be my next supermoto if I ever sell my KTM which I wont. I had an XR650R too but wanted to get back into track so I traded for the Kawi.

yep I just spoke to a guy who is selling his 07 FJ springs...Ill be picking them up on Monday. Question is, I still buy the Bilstein 5100s for the T4R correct?

I believe so. There really isn't any difference. I installed my fj suspension today and reused all my old hardware too

oh crap your right! I just noticed that....its the crappy Iphone camera..did not get the V8 due to the fact that all the ones I saw were trashed. I also talked my self out of it since I dont need the power, it AWD and gets worse MPG (which isnt a big factor for me though).


I am probably just going to changed the front struts to Biltein 5100s and use the stock FJ tokicos/springs and a spacer for the time being....

Got my spacers and new strut hats, now just waiting on my Bilstein 5100s. Plan is to have a shop put the front struts together so it can be a easy swap without the hassle of using a spring compressor.

I wish I had known you needed hats. I had a new set of them from the FJ suspension I got. I threw them in the trash the other day.
