Thanks Hulley! This Ed Brown 1911 is my favorite pistol out of the collection. As pretty as it is, its a shooter and not a safe queen. It actually looks pretty good dirty too.

I'm not a big fan of revolvers nor a fan of double action. As with any double action revolver, it seems like it takes all day for the cylinder to rotate and the the hammer to cock back. Having said that, as far as revolvers go, this Colt Python is smooth as butter and extremely accurate. The single action is super crisp and light. The heavy 6" barrel does a great job of taming the .357 mag recoil. With .38 special, the recoil is really light.

I don't shoot it much because I just enjoy shooting my semi auto's so much more. The firearm itself is simply a work or art. From the design, to the feel to the Colt royal blueing. At this point in it's life, it's a safe queen.

I fully understand the sickness. HK's are fine weapons. My EDC CCW is an HK. Back when I used to work for a living I was issued HK's during various stages of my assignment. The HK93, HK91, HK Benelli M1 Super 90, MP5 and HK53. The HK53 being my favorite. I don't have many pics and the few I have are 35mm film. Here are a couple that I scanned.

As for my personal collection, I have an HK Benelli M1 Super 90 and a couple P2000sk's. I went to my LGS to browse for a new CCW and ended up with an HK P2000sk V1 9mm. The sickness wouldn't let me stop there so I also grabbed an HK P2000sk V1 in .40 cal. It was a good day. :D

I'm over here wondering what you use to do......no need to tell. I only showed you a peak into the safe. I'm somewhat new around these parts (looking for a 2010+ Trail). A 53 is on my want list as I own a transferable Full Auto Sear. I have an order in for a Dakota Tactical (high end HK Clone builder) HK 53 Style rifle in .300 blackout.

Anyone know anything or have opinions on DPMS? I was looking at a Pather LR .308 and the guy behind the counter was sort- of bad mouthing them but wouldn't offer any specifics. I'm sure there are better guns out there, but it seems like a nice gun for the price.

I've heard stuff that the gas block comes loose, more wear than usual on charging handles...

the m&p10 is a better rifle for the money, i'd sit on it though for another year, there's some other things on the horizon in the ar-10 market that will be worth waiting for.

(with those options your wanting might be a bit more, i've just personally resolved to not own any dpms if i can help it, they are fine rifles but there's better out there for slightly more money)
