Not sure exactly what gods we pissed off, but Jmildoc and I had quite the adventure yesterday. We headed out to Redbird SRA, which is a huge off-road park. It rained on us on the way there, but the weather guys said it was supposed to end...wrong!

Started off ok, little muddy but not too bad...

So everything was going great, until we got to this stupid hill. Normally, we would have gone right up, but it was covered in sloppy, slick a** mud. Jmildoc tried first, and didn't quite make it...

It got pretty sketchy, but he eventually straightened it out...

So after all of that, Jmildoc was pretty stuck. It was too slick to get any traction, and he kept sliding to either side of the trail (which had a dropped off on both sides).

I had the brilliant idea to go around the back way, and maybe pull him down and out. This is where I ended up...

Stuck as sh*t. I tried to go along the high side, but slid down. It came all the way up to the sliders...I was going no where.

Some guys in a Polaris and a winch came by, and after about 20 minutes I was out.

While we were getting me out, it rained some more, and even started hailing...not what we needed.

We finally got Jmildoc back with the help of the winch...

Needless to say, we both hate mud even more than before. This would have been a great day if it wasn't soo damn wet! We'll go back, but not until it dries out! And at least a Jeep didn't get us out!!!

And I, and I'm sure Jmildoc, will be getting a winch soon. If we had our own, it would have been much easier to get ourselves out. Jmildoc has some other pics, I'll let him add those later.

well you have a memory for sure now ... every time you get under the truck and find more mud, you'll think back to this adventure.

I'm still cleaning mud off from the last trip we took! I took it to a self service wash and hosed her down. Wen we came home from dinner last night, my wife pointed out all the leaves and sticks hanging down from the undercarriage! I'll be spending a few hours tomorrow cleaning everything up. Definitely and adventure though...

Takes me back to my '84... and a punctured sidewall on something that was in that mud. I'm not sure what else was mixed in there, but it smelled awful! Every time the underside of that truck got wet after that for the next year or so, it stank enough to make my eyes water! Suffice to say, I've adopted a sniff test before romping in mud... if it smells like that, I ain't going in.

nice videos! these threads makes my boring classes go by alot faster haha. I'm also still cleaning mud off my 4runner from the trail, my windows will probably never roll up and down smoothly anymore with all the dirt thats found its way in their. I guess thats the price we pay for putting our 4runners through the mud lol

Haha...like I said, at least it wasn't a Jeep. The guys who helped us said they have to do this every time it rains...and there were a lot worse than situations than ours. I was the one who was helped the most by the UTV, we used a come-a-long to get Jmildoc out.

Those Polaris UTVs are no joke...a few of my buddies have them and we beat the hell out of them. They're pretty stout.
