Oil Change: TRD Pro sealed Transmission Fluid vs Transfer Case... HELP

Hey Guys,
I have a

2015 Toyota 4 Runner TRD Pro

Currently has 65k Miles, never used in 4WD and did only some Towing, but nothing extreme.

In the future i plan to do some mild Overlanding, but nothing gnarly.

The Toyota Dealer said there is no need to change the Transmission Oil until 100k, because it is a Sealed Transmission, and to be specific it requires a certain procedure with Pre-Heating of the Oil before re-Filling to make sure the correct Volume if Fluid is in it.

But they were not as sure about the Differential and Transfer Case... They only knew for sure the Front/Rear Diff should be changed every 65k miles.

Does anybody know if there is anything special to do to change the Differentials Oil?

Should i also do the Transfer case or should i do it all at once at 100k when i do the Transmission?

Thanks for any input... I am new to the 4 Runner World and i never owned an Automatic Transmission Car before.

IMO, 40-50K on diffs and t-case, same goes for transmission. This is if you never tow, never wheel, never in deep water. Cut the diffs in half if you tow, diffs really need to be checked if submerged since water can get in them. Mostly an issue with the rear unless you relocate the rear diff breather. I know Toyota says 10K on engine oil but I don't like that idea. I change my engine oil every 5K miles, cheap insurance. Just my opinion but the fact is your oil can never be to clean. Costs a whole lot less to replace oil more often than Toyota says is required than it costs to rebuild or replace something.

Yes i always change Motor Oil & Filter every 5k and i only use Synthetic Oil.

I will use Synthetic also for the Differential and Transfer case... For what you said, they are not pre-sealed like the tranny... So i should be able to do it in my garage shop

Yep diffs and t-case are easy. Just be sure to use the correct oil. T-case calls for 75 weight, not cheap from Toyota. Bunch of people run 75-90, same as the diffs, but that's your call. Engine oil is a 0-20, I personally run Mobil 1 and I use an OEM Toyota filter.

I changed my rear differential at 5000 because I routinely do water crossings. I changed my front diff out at 11000. Probably won't change them out again until 50,000. Don't pull your drain plug before you get your fill plug out. Put some anti-sieze on the threads when putting them back. Replace the crush gaskets with new ones. 3 quarts of 75 W 90 and your good to go.

Even if you don't off road it is necessary to put into 4 hi once a month to keep the gears well lubed.

Yeah, i was thinking about getting Mobil 1 Synt

No worried about the extra cost, still cheaper than changing a diff & t-case

These links will help. They have some good information in them. I plan on changing the transfer case and differential fluids soon. I'm almost at 65,000 miles. I have already bought the Toyota fluids.

I would run from that dealer. Diff/t-case changes have been the same for at least 50 years (probably longer), there is nothing special to 'think about' and they could have checked any number of the manuals they have or looked on the lot and seen what is obvious.
