When I bought my 2011 as a used vehicle a few weeks ago, I was also included in what is called "Jones for Life". This means my 4Runner will get free oil changes for the life of the vehicle. I've always changed my own oil, and done my own maintenance. I have always been paranoid about letting someone else do it (i.e. dealer/shop/etc.). I had a bad experience with a name brand shop about ten years ago, and vowed never to let someone else change my oil or do basic maintenance unless I was in a bind. So included in the free oil change is.... they come pick up your vehicle within a 50 mile radius, they leave you a loaner car, they change the oil, and wash your vehicle (note: it's an auto wash- not touch free). Then they return it to you, and pick up the loaner.
I'm torn. I like the idea of NEVER EVER having to pay for an oil change again... but... I don't like the idea of someone driving my runner for an extended period of time (I work about 30 minutes from the dealer), someone washing my vehicle (it's black so will show every scratch) not to my specifications, and who knows what they are REALLY doing to it. I am picky (I know strange for a chick), I have used synthetic Mobil 1 for the last 10 years or so, and I hand wash my vehicles or use a touch-free carwash only.
I just don't know..... Thoughts???
