While this is not a specific 5th Gen item, I wanted to get it in front of the group that I interact with the most and whom I've had the pleasure of meeting in person in some cases. I've made reference to my Everest project before and now it's in full swing.

Our Inspiration:
Spring, 1998
As the rising sun crept across the Tibetan plateau ‘Frankie’ Arsentiev stepped onto the summit of Mt Everest and into history as the first American woman (and only the third woman in the world) to have reached the summit of Everest without using supplementary oxygen – the most incredible achievement, and a true American hero. Three days later we found Frankie lying near death just a few hours below the summit.
‘Frankie, you have to fight. You have to help me! Americans fight. If you want to live, you must fight!’ I just wanted to galvanize a reaction, any reaction. Maybe she could take just a little of her own weight. But I may as well have been shouting at the wind – there was no reply. The battle was lost. I had nothing left. And as I laid Frankie back down as gently as my trembling arms would allow, I collapsed next to her, dangerously exhausted.
So we turned our backs on Frankie, and with our heads spinning and tears streaming down our face, we stumbled back down the steep rocks towards our high camp, not realizing how difficult and dangerous it is to be climbing downwards with your eyes so full of tears.
Spring, 2007
Conditions on the mountain are so extreme that bodies don’t disintegrate to any great degree, so nine years later I returned to 26 000ft on the north face of Mt Everest to move Frankie away from the prying eyes of passing climbers, and to give her the dignity she deserved.
So, with the steadily reducing hiss of our oxygen bottles reminding us that time was our enemy, we quickly but tenderly wrapped Frankie in the Stars and Stripes, tucked a Teddy Bear under her arm for company, whispered a personal message from her son Paul, and then slipped her gently over the edge and down the north face, so she could join her beloved husband Serguei lying somewhere below.

Project Aim:
The aim of our Kickstarter project is to turn The Tao of Everest’s moving and inspirational story into a feature length film documentary as well as a full color, coffee-table book.
Authentic Documentary:
In order to offer the most authentic interpretation of the story our aim is to return to both the north and south sides of Mt Everest during 2013 and film the events of the story in the actual locations they occurred, including, conditions allowing, the summit itself.
While we are filming on the mountain we will also have the opportunity to bury an Indian climber who has been lying exposed at 26,000ft on the mountain for the past twelve years, and give him the dignity he deserves.
Quality Coffee-Table Book:
The Tao of Everest coffee-table book will be high-end case bound, full-color throughout, have a full-color dust jacket, and use the finest 170gsm art paper. In addition, to show the color pictures to their best effect (please see examples below), the book will be A4 in size and landscape orientated so each picture can be shown on its own individual page. Truly a book that every collector would be delighted to have in their collection, and one that would make an outstanding gift!
