Ol'Blue's Razor Sharp

I don't think I've owned a knife as sharp as this before. Even new knives, out of the box, don't feel anywhere near this sharp.

Really glad you were able to keep that engraving on there for me too! I've had this knife since I was 9 or 10 years old.

Mark

When you think about knifes each one is a work of art. In most cases they are hand grinded and shaped out of high quality carbon steel, unless it is just a cheap stamped out knife someone puts a juick edge on to make a buck.

For me it is almost therapeutic to take something beat up and broken and make it better than new. I guess it is why I love cars so much and watches (I'm a watch hound)

I should have been an engineer of some type instead of a BA in nonsense.

I'm glad you are really enjoying that. I hope that it will give you many years of enjoyment and use.

Also, because the way I shaped the edge keeping it sharp should be easy. It is a single bevel 20 degree edge. I hate double bevel edges, they will roll on you and get dul fast.

If you have any questions just fire away man.

Tell your wife I also do kitchen knifes..... :thumb:

Shipping out two more Randall/ESEE back to there owner in the morning. Enjoy. I will say that bigger one was a bit of work because of the damage to the blade but I cut it back and cleaned it all up for you, all the knicks and pitting are worked out of the blade (Stop cutting rocks Brother). Watch out she is bad!!!!!

Enjoy.

I decided to take ol blue up on his offer and send him my well loved esees. These blades are 1095 steel, I've used them to chop wood, used them as pry bars, used them every single day And beat the heck out of them.
I've never been successful at sharpening them so off to razor sharp they went. I can tell you I will absolutely be sending these knives and all my other knives back to ol blue and paying full price as often add I need to.
Him saying my blades were rough is an understatement, but today I got them back far beyond factory sharp and more pristine then when I received them.

Ol blue please share before and after photos if you have them, or let me know and I will figure out uploading some.
Amazing and such a difference!

As he said one of the knifes in all honesty was in pretty bad shape and had no edge at all. The smaller on was all in all not in bad shape just needed the some TLC. Before, the process, and after....

Is it not nice to be able to pick up a blade and know that it will cut with ease anything you out that edge to. I have said it before but the steel is what really make the knife and the ESEE's are great knifes.

Look forward to seeing what else you have for me.

Hey brother,

How are the mean streets of the south land treating you. That 5th Gen is coming along real nice. I have been following it some. Things are good on this end and just settling in nice in the Ozarks again. Miss some things in Calie but for the most parts I don't miss much at all other than In&Out.

If you need anything man just hit me up.

This is my EDC, nothing particularly fancy. I really just wanted to try a tanto blade to see what it was like. But I also have a Benchmade Griptillian:

Not sure if you would be interested in sharpening either, but I would gladly pay for your services. Thank you my friend!

PS-Thanks for being a great Marine and upholding the reputation despite cultural changes by top brass. I've had reservations about commissioning as a Zulu or Osprey pilot because of the attempt to change Marine culture. I feel in a lot of ways that you were part of the last true devil dogs, but I hope I'm wrong about that.

Thanks man,

Those words really mean allot. If I had to do it all over today one of two things would happen. i would have gone to the Army and done SF or Ranger bat. or I would not enlist at all. The current administration is just so out of touch with American Values I just can't even process it at times even when I really critically think about it.

Now the good stuff. Knifes. Both of them will take an edge just fine. Shoot me a PM and I will get you everything you need to ship them to me and how I do it.
