Just put in 890s and the OME Comfort 60028 in the rear for my 99 T4R, good amount of rake, a lot stiffer in the back. But anyways, i'm now looking into lifting the front, but I'd like to keep a small amount of rake. I don't do any crawling, but just long cramping/backcountry trips where i'm loaded up with a ton of gear. I upgraded my rear so it wouldn't sag, it would be a shame if I got a front lift to level it out and the rear ended up sagging again.
I'm looking into the Toytec Coilovers for $609 ToyTec coilover kit with Bilstein 5100 shocks - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits
From what I have read, the Eibach springs alone provide a 3" lift, but in the item description, it says "Adjustable from 1 1/2" to 3 1/2" Lift". Anyone have any insight on that? In the end, I think a 2"-2.5" lift in the front would be ideal to keep my rake, and down the road get a plate bumper. I'm looking for a lift but yet a decent on-road ride, as it is my DD. Is there anyone that makes an adjustable coilover with progressive TRD springs?
Sidenote: After reading all the horror stories of removing the rear shocks, I for some reason thought bending the crap out of the absorber would break it free. Nope. Get the coil out and with a Sawzall to the shock, 5min literally you're done.
