OME 891 Rear Coils 1 1/2" Not Enough Lift

I installed new OME 891 coils in the rear of my 97 Runner and only ended up with 1 1/2" of lift. After much research I bought these coils hoping for 2 1/2 to 3" lift in the rear to level it out with my 3" lift in the front. I do have a heavy 4XInnovations rear bumper with 33" spare tire swing out, tools, recovery gear, etc which I'm sure has everything to do with the problem. My question, is anyone running a similar heavy rear setup as me with 3" of lift and if so what springs are you using? I know that this is a fairly common setup and am hoping to get this right on the second go round. FYI, I measure 23" from center of hub to fender in the front and 21 1/2" from center of hub to fender in the rear.

I have the same issue except I don't have really any weight in the back. I only got like 1½-2 inches from my 890s. I was actually debating going with some Toytec coils in the future. Sorry if this wasn't any help but I'd thought I'd share since I have the same issue but without the weight factor

That's interesting. Definitely not what I would have expected. I'm leaning toward Land Cruiser 7 or 8 wrap coils. They supposedly give 3 1/2' to 4" of lift without the weight but I'm hoping someone will chime in that's running the Land Cruiser coils with the extra weight.

The OME 2890 coils give around 2" - 2.5" of lift. However, OME coils are known to sag easily within a few weeks to several months. If you want to keep on using them, you'll need to add trim spacers to add 1/2" lift per 10mm spacer. OME recommends a maximum of two spacers per coil.

Try Dobinsons coil springs.

LC80 coil springs will give 3.5"+ lift, depending on the coil type (there are several LC80 coils), but will sag under load. you can place an air bag in the coils to add to its load-carrying capacity

Swapped to 891 for increased rate, added a daystar 1.5" spacer cut to 1".. Happy now. had LC coils and seemed too soft when loaded.

+1 for Dobinsons. I bet with 210V coils and some LC shocks you'd sit right around 3in and have a really nice ride to boot (Dobinsons ride much better with a little weight on them, I keep 160lbs of concrete in the back for this purpose)

I went with OME 861 in the rear and it definitely lifted my rear end up, now with a rake stance. I run a Shrockworks rear bumper with swingout arm, spare 33” tire, 2 Jerry cans and a high lift jack. A couple of Front Runner Wolfpack boxes full of gear too. Will be adding a rear drawer system as well.

Anyway, not sure how high the lift is, but when I bought the truck, it had crappy Rough Country springs on it and with a normal load, those sagged. Bought the OME 861, installed them, raised my truck high enough I couldn’t get out of the garage with the roof basket that also came with the truck. I have had these on the rear for about 1.5 years, no sag ever. Not even sure if the rake will disappear when I install the drawer system.
