OME Lift Questions

Looking at this kit:

OME-4R210 - Old Man Emu Suspension (2010+ 4Runner)

OME 885 up front for eventual slimline bumper.
OME 889 in the back.

Main question is would you go with UCAs or stick with stock? The website states that the 885s are 3 inch lift.

2nd question is how do you think the 885s up front would ride until the bumper was on?
I have seen some comments that I think pertain to the 885s that say they are not too bad.

I have this lift - 250 or 300 miles so far, and paired it with Total chaos UCAs. Got a full 3 inches. I bought it for the same reason you did and I still have the stock front bumper. It’s a little bit springy up front and could use a little weight to even out but it isn’t a bad ride at all. In fact, it’s an improvement over stock in several areas. I haven’t had it off road yet, but I think you’ll be fine.

I got this lift as well and had the 885 up front since it was suppose to work well with the slimline and winch. NOPE. I put the bumper on and the front went down to basically stock height. I upgraded to the 886 up front and now it sits like it should. I have the 885 springs just sitting around if you want them.

I did upgrade my control arms to JBA not because I had to just because I wanted to

Thanks for that offer, I might just go with the 886s though after hearing that from you. I'd rather it be too stiff than lose height.

Also looks like I should just bite the bullet and replace the UCAs I was hoping to not have to spend that yet with only going 3in.

I added them from the start. Had them on my 4th gen and wanted the flexibility with alignment specs with the UCAs. I've heard that you don't need them but I didn't want to take that chance.

The OME Kit is designed for Bolt-On replacement with stock UCA's.

However, ARB does recommend going with aftermarket UCA's for alignment to factory specs.

OME Front Coils, Part #2885 (Medium Load) is great for stock weight.

OME Front Coils, Part #2887 (Heavy Load) is a great fit for Slim Line Bumper, Especially if you want to add a winch.

OME Rear Coils, Part #2889 (Medium Load) is great for stock weight and up to 400lbs of aftermarket weight.
