OME LIFT reminders

okay if no one knows like I didnt before I added the OME 2885 coils, YOU HAVE TO RUN the OME struts. And the drivers side spacer, Had them installed today and it made a huge difference, only reason I posted this is because after some misinformation from 4wp, and 2 alignments. Also if your strut tower caps are bad replace those also, I am now figuring what to do about the rear lift, now the front is dialed in, thanks and hope this isnt a double post...

IDK new to liftin yotas, The guys at toytec put it to me like this bilstein and ome 2 different animals, Now if you do run the billys you shouldnt use any of the higher settings, Not saying anyone is wrong, but I went with the ome coils and struts

It's not mandatory at all just recommended by ARB, I was able to get into alignment fine with Bilstein 5100s and OME coils with the 5100s at the +1.5" position.

I find this interesting as quite a few folks have done the OME/5100 setup. I also find it interesting that Toytec uses 5100 struts in their "ultimate" setup and essentially they are accomplishing the lift by preloading the strut with their custom spanner deal. I honestly don't see ANY difference between running the 5100s at the .85 setting with Eibach coils or if you buy their "ultimate" setup and crank em up, you simply gain more adjustability with the Toytec setup.

The OME coils are longer, therefore you need a longer strut to match. That's why you shouldn't use stock. But you also don't have to use OME. Bilsteins are longer and will work also. Maybe there are others that would work. I don't know. But that's the general premise of it all.

I agree that you shouldn't go with the 1.85 or 2.5 settings on the 5100s if you are using OME coils. That would result in too much lift.

I believe one reason that toytec recommends using the ome lift springs with the ome shocks is because they have a set spring perch, the bilstein front adjustable shocks use a snap ring/clip for height adjustment which may not be as strong. apparently there have been some reports of the ring breaking. but the adjustment of the coilovers in the ultimate setup would be stronger do to the fact of not having the snap ring.
