I would like to program my keyless entry to unlock all doors with one click instead of the default 2 clicks. The manual says to take it to the stealer, no thanks to that suggestion. Anybody know how to do this?

Don't be surprised if your dealer doesn't understand it - the dealer closest to me doesn't get it. The service manager actually told me that he "doesn't know why Toyota prints that sort of thing in the Owner's Manual, because it's not true and can't be done." The Customizable Body Electronic Settings (officially called "C-BEST settings") are a selling point at a Lexus dealership. They market it as "Lexus Personalized Settings"; the marketing people hated the "C-BEST" acronym. Computers with C-BEST got introduced on the 4Runner in 2003. They don't have as many settings as a Lexus, but there are some in there.
Dealers will charge you the going rate for labor for spending time on your vehicle - even a Lexus dealer would after one initial free setting. However, ProMed's suggestion is excellent. If you're already having something else done, dealers that understand C-BEST are usually cool enough to just do it for you. It only takes a couple of minutes to change settings.

I do need to take the 4runner back for CV Boots (parts on order) so it wouldnt hurt to ask. I have only been to this dealer one time and that was not an all together confidence building experience. Statements like CV boot "are always going to leak" dont exactly ring true. Then there was the laundry list of un-necessary services they tried to sell me...

Got the T4R back from the dealer service dept. yesterday. They replaced the front CV boots under warranty and reprogrammed the keyless entry all for no charge. I am a happy camper!
