Hello all!
Recently, I completed a 16,000 mile road trip of South America in a 1984 FJ60; and I couldn't think of a better way to follow it up than a two-month, 10,000+ mile road trip of North America in my 1999 T4R...for less than $5k. So far my girlfriend and I have completed about 4,500 miles starting from Annapolis, MD, driving through Maine to Quebec City, down through Montreal to the Finger Lakes of New York, back into Canada at Toronto, over to Detroit, up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan via Traverse City, around to Green Bay for a Packers game, down to Chicago for a Cubs game (I know they're terrible but it was a great time), and now we just left Minneapolis for Custer State Park for the annual bison drive. In my mind, we are just getting to the great part and this is where I would greatly appreciate your suggestions.
We are heading to both Custer and the Black Hills before taking off for the Tetons and Yellowstone (may swing through Idaho Falls to thank the CBI guys personally) and eventually heading north to Glacier National and Banff. Due to time constraints on the back end I really only have 10 days for this leg. If anyone lives in these areas or has some tips for off-roading, trekking, camping, or even safe places to park and sleep for the night, we would be greatly appreciative.
Also, on our return leg we should be hitting Zion and Moab if anyone has the same info on those.
