ONF Alexander springs area.

Got a chance to do a quick pit stop while traveling between Tampa and Daytona, I was taking back roads and happen to be in Alexander springs area. Pulled off the road there and hit a couple of the marked sandy trails in that area for like 15 minutes. Not bad, nice scenery and slight elevation changes was about all. I was surprised I convinced my better half for that little adventure. I will go back when I have more time to explore and maybe swim/camp at the springs.

Came back across SR40 on the way home and looked like there were similar places along the road there too.

SR40 has a few fire roads and forest trails that can be fun if it hasn’t rained too much. Next time you’re out that way, check out Farles Prairie, some decent dispersed camping spots and usually not too crowded.
