1. Always test the water for depth before crossing. Rock, Stick, or walk in it. I prefer walking to see what type of terrain is underneath and for tire placement. Is it soft, rocky, Bolders!

2. If you do not have a Snorkel installed then use a full front Car Bra to help bow wave the entry and divert the water above and on the side of the vehicle. Momentum is Key in order to keep water from the engine.

3. Mount your tow straps before getting in so that recovery will be easier than to have to feel your way for the mounting points.

If you look at my gallery you'll see I got swamped at one point. The water inside was a beotch but after a good day of steam cleaning and wet/dry vac it was good as new. I changed all my fluids to be sure nothing got in to the motor.

Its funny that you see the Heep and the Hyandie (Intentional misspelling)stuck in the mud field when we could probably run circles around them. I was with some friends in a mud field worse than that in 4HI and center diff. locked and couldn't get stuck, i even stopped and I didn't get stuck, and this was with the REVO's.

But back OT, that really sucks for that man. I'm sure he was pissed.
