Out with the Old, in with the New-ish!

Hello Folks. I pretty much just bought my 1997 4Runner, lifted, supercharged, etc. and I have already decided to switch rides. The gas was frankly too much for a 16 year old to pay for and I think something a little more "tame" would be more suitable. I ended up buying a 2002 SR5 in Sunfire Red. It is stock with the exception of a $1200 sound system. It was owned by a gentleman who worked at a local Toyota dealership, who bought it 6 months ago off of the dealership. It was owned by the original owner until then. It has a few scratches and a fair sized dent, and I need a new rear bumper but that's about it. 289,000 KM or 180K miles. I'm anxious to start the modding :fro: Are the clear corners the same for all years or was there some change in between years?

Thanks. In what way though? Once the 1997 is sold, I'll be able to get my money back out of it (I got it DIRT cheap). The 02 was $6700. So overall it shouldn't be too much more if not making a little bit on the '97.

I'm confused how you figure you will be getting better gas mileage? For the money you spent on the 02 you could have regeared and kept 6000

Well, I guess I could've regeared, but I also swapped because the '97 has a rougher exterior, and too be honest, and it might sound funny, but the supercharger is probably a little overboard for a new driver. At least now I have a good, solid runner with a little less power for me. The red one does have a saggy ass, but that'll be fixed this summer. Premium fuel ain't cheap, either.

Another thought. Swap those wheels... The Ivan Stewarts are worth a bit more than the stock 5 stars and look really good when cleaned up.

I'm going to keep the supercharger on it, just because it attracts more potential local buyers. The rims, Ill have to see. I do really like the, though. The clear coat is rough, but nothing that can't be fixed. But it might be a tough sell, since the stock split spokes are a little rough.
