Outside Temperature Factory

Has anybody gone about retrofitting a factory outdoor temperature gauge into their 4runner? I have interest in this for storm chasing purposes. It was always really handy to see the actual outdoor temperature.

I want one just like is stock in the 01 and 02 limiteds. Has anybody done this?

Not as easy as it sounds, as the temp readout is part of the digital climate control. Installing the digital control module would also involve installing a few servo motors and a whole lot of wiring. Major headache and big bucks just to have an outside dash thermometer.

I bought one of the compass/outside temp mirrors from Nissan. Comes with the mirror and sensor. Had complete directions on how to install and hook up.

Works Great, am also a storm spotter.

I just ordered this sensor from Toyota. Only I will be using it for my Hilux Field Monitoring Unit. By the way its called a Thermistor. It'll save you some time because people at Toyota don't know what its really called.
