Painting JBA Upper Control Arms

Just out of curiosity - Has anyone painted their JBA UCA's?

I am getting a set this week and while the red powdercoat looks awesome, I'd prefer more of a subtle look. It's a shame to paint over a brand new quality powdercoat job, but I'd much rather go with black asI'll be throwing on some King coilovers and don't want too many colors going on. Planning on doing the typical prep work before hand (light scuffing, clean w/ alcohol, 3 base coats, clear coat).

Has anyone done this? How'd it turn out?

Clear coat? On suspension components? How about some SEM trim black or any old satin black? Then it will match everything else down there. The powder coat under the paint will keep any rust at bay, so the paint doesn't really have to be anything special.

Used rustoleum farm implement if I remember correctly. Had no prep beyond a light sanding and taping off whatever I didn't want painted

Honestly not a bad idea. I saw a member do that actually and it looked great. With my bronze wheels, I want less color in all other places though.

Nothing yet! Only been about 8 months or so but they're holding up well. Farm implement is pretty tough stuff and is pretty chip resistant. You gotta learn to work with it though, unlike other spray paint that will usually even out and blend as it cures farm implement is not nearly as forgiving and really likes to dry however it was applied. Also very finicky in regards to how thick it goes on - even the "low gloss" shades will shine if you lay them on too thick. So take your time and make sure your last couple coats look good if you're picky like me
Of course a way around this would be to use farm imp as a base coat and something else for a top coat, but that depends on how much effort you want to put into repainting them. May or may not be a little redundant in your situation. There are certainly other durable spray paints around that would suffice just as well; I just use farm implement a lot, had some laying around and it was the best choice from what I had in my garage

Use spray Max 2k satin black.
It will hold up to chips and be solvent resistant

I’ve got the JBA’s (preferred the red but awesome work of what I’ve seen here!)

So I’m running stock 2020 ORP wheels and 275’s and I know they have the wheel/tire specs on their site, but just curious what set ups y’all have?
