Painting Questions

Gonna spend the majority of this weekend doing some project on the 4Runner. It's been a while.

Few questions:

1. I'm gonna paint both the plastic piece between the windshield and hood, and also the lower valance. Do you think either one of those would look good color matched?

2. How do you remove the lower valance from the chrome bumper

3. Is there an easy way to remove the window trim?

If I remeber correctly the cowl was just attached with screws and plastic "push pins" (for lack of a better description). Once I'd removed all of the screws, I just used a putty knife to slide up under the cowl near the pins and pry upward. Not sure about the valence, it's still on my "to do" list.

1. Here's how to remove the cowl piece; http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/111794-restoring-your-weathered-cowl-piece.html

2. I'd just keep them black, I honestly don't think it would be very cool to match, unless your paint was black.

3. Probably screwed on, since it's right there though, might just be easiest to tape off and paint with it on the truck.

4. Gotta tape window trim off, as far as I know, you can't just take that off and put it back on, that easily at least.

The lower valence on the front bumper has bolts with those little clips attached that you simply unscrew. The outside edges are a little different but you'll see when you get under there and look.

Mine were too rusty and just tore out ripping the valence up so I had to cut the bolts off and replace them with new hardware. Did that a long time ago and don't remember why I went through all that trouble.
