Painting the 1996, need opinions/suggestions

Is this "generic ice white" a metallic white? I like Lexus' Starfire and Mazda's Snowflake white colors. Stop by a dealer,I'm sure they stock vehicles in those colors.

That Starfire white looks amazing, the issue is that I don't think I could afford to do the Lexus' paint.. close to $2k for just paint would kill me. Pearlescent colors tend to show the dirt and grime a lot more from what I know.

The Mazda Snowflake is crisp as heck, really like the look of it. I'm struggling to figure out what paint code goes to which one on the different paints. Probably one I would have to go to the dealer to figure out a bit more.

Thanks on the suggestions, I would be fine with or without a metallic paint job if I went back with the white. Non is sexier when dirty and less effort to maintain while the metallic is sexy af until I get it dirty.. Something I'd have to think over a bit.

I'd prefer something shiny, but the 3rd gen runner doesn't seem to run the high gloss nearly as well as its newer brothers. I assumed it would run the semi-gloss decent in the grey, I do know what you're saying though.

I may end up running a gloss and attempt my secondary plan having a clear matte plasti-dip over the gloss clear for a unique look which still offers protection (otherwise there would be trails I couldn't run) The issue is that I simply have no idea how it is going to look on the car.

Take a look at some vehicles with a clear plasti-dip on google and tell me what you think.

I think the matte plastidip look is what your looking for. I don’t think semi gloss would look good. Plus when you look online for a semi gloss car finish they show cars that either have a matte or flat finish so it’s kind of misleading. I personally wouldn’t spray an entire vehicle with plastidip although I like that some people have used it like a clear bra.

No luck finding any old pics. It was rhino-lined a UPS brown by a company in NC. That's all I know.

[MENTION=171273]TravThePro[/MENTION] if your looking at a pearl(metallic) white most of them are tri-coats and are very expensive. I did however find a pearl white that’s not a tri-coat because I was gonna spray a boat this color. It’s a Mazda color: Crystal White. I’ll edit this post with Mazda’s paint code in the morning. 34k is the Mazda code

Also here’s this. Limited color options but they do sell a matte clear too. I’ve used the Hot Rod black and the Matte clear. Both are great. I wish I could get PPG’s matte clear but my work cant order it and I don’t like to pay full price at other places.

If you want a sweet white "pearl", we painted my wife's Fzj80 with a Hyundai white metallic that came out amazing.
