Interested to see how other 5th Gen guys mount these to the over head handle spots. The 5th Gens don't use bolts to mount the handles, they use some cheap ass anchor system with no bolts.
Once you remove the stock handle there is just a square hole there.
I bought 4 anyway assuming I will be able to fashion some kind of anchor system, like a strong drywall anchor or something, but would like to hear from anyone that has already done this? Pics?

They make a product just for this. Made by Dorman and sold in about every parts store..

I received two sets of black and gray handles about two days after I paid via PayPal. It took less than 5 minutes to install them in the '89 4Runner and the 2000 Tacoma XCab. Very happy.

[MENTION=138263]runner4play[/MENTION]- these use the factory hardware and mount to the same bolt holes, so no mods/fabrication needed. Pretty much plug-n-play.

haha, yeh i understand that part, I guess what i mean is what secures the paracord to the screw. Is there a piece of metal running through it with the holes?

LOL- you had me worried for a second! I was thinking "surely the concept isn't THAT difficult to grasp is it??"

Thanks for the clarification, and nothing there at the ends of the paracord- just 2 loops created by the paracord itself.

Have any 5th gen owners attached a paracord handle as a "loop" on the ds a pillar, using the bolt under the airbag bolt cover to attach both ends of the paracord handle? It has been discussed on the 5th gen forum ad infinitum that the 5th gens no longer have the molded grab handle on the a pillar. I'm wondering whether the dangle of the handle, configuring the paracord handle as I've described, would interfere with sight lines or have some other negative effect.
