Parking Brake Stuck - help

Below was fixed.
My wife gently pushed the parking brake down and it released.

Help, my Parking Brake Stuck was pushed down too hard and it is stuck.
I have tried pushing it down really hard several times.
I have put it in Drive & Reverse and pushing the parking brake down.
Suggestions?

2004, 4Runner, 2WD, V8

With me being a southern boy from Atlanta I had a situation one time when I was in Wyoming. I had parked for the night after a wet snowy day. I came out the next morning and my shoes were frozen against the drums. I learned the hard way to never set the parking brake in very cold/wet weather.
