been looking for a 3rd gen 4runner for the past 5 months. this forum has been a great resource for what to look for (and what to look out for).
finally found an '02 sr5 4x4, 110k miles, thunder cloud metallic and pulled the trigger on the purchase. going to pick it up in a few days.
was originally looking for a 1-owner 4runner. this one has had 3 owners, but first two only owned it for 6 months each. most recent owner has had it for 8 years or so. and it has nearly 80 service records documented on toyotaowners.com....regular oil, coolant, trans, brake, and diff fluid changes, new lower ball joints, new timing belt @ 60k, and just had a new radiator put in by the dealer. no sign of pink milkshake, i think it was just a pre-emptive move....
must have looked at a few dozen 4runners over the past few months, and this one's frame is the best i've seen. nearly free of rust, which is really surprising for new england.
anyways, just wanted to say thanks to the forum, and look forward to taking part in it moving forward...
