Picking up my new Limited tomorrow, I have a question about tires..

I have been searching and lurking through these forums for over a week getting educated before my purchase tomorrow. I talked with my local Discount Tire store and they said if I install 275/55/20 tires to be prepared with a very short life due to the tire bead being pulled inward to seal the tire and causing the center of the tire to make more contact. Has anyone been able to confirm this theory?

Recommended wheel widths included. Looks like the factory 7" wheel may be on the narrow side.

There are a few people who run that size on the forum and perhaps they will get you the answer you want. I simply wasn’t willing to take a risk so I downsized my rims. Amazing what you can actually sell the LE rims for! Going to a 17 inch rim will give you many many more tire choices with the same overall size as the ones you have listed.

I have Cooper 275/55/20s on the stock wheels on my '14 LE. I have less than 250 miles on them so I can't yet comment on the wear. I can say that I'm skeptical about the "very short life" assertion. The bulge on the sidewall will provide some protection from curb rash on the wheels. So, I've got that going for me...

There's a guy on Instagram who has 295's on a stock 20'. That's pushing it big time. I'd consider 275, but not 295. See if you can find someone with some miles on them.

I put about 10,000 miles on a set of Michelin 275/55/20 MS2 and did not see any unusual wear when I pulled them off last week to put on 17's and some better AT tires.

I have 275/55 BFGs and I'm very happy I got them. They are nowhere near bulging on the rim but are still wider then the Yokohamas which where definitely more pavement oriented. Definitely a beefier look.

I drove 230 miles to Indianapolis yesterday to pick up the Limited. The tires that came on my vehicle are the Bridgestone Dueller tires. I actually don't think there too bad. A set of hubcentric spacers would help out, too. Do any manufacturers make 0.75 or 1 inch hubcentric spacers? The smallest I found were 1.25".
