Pirelli Scorpion-MTR Any Good?

I am planning the lift for my new 4Runner and am looking to buy a set of 285/75/16's on it after the lift is installed I originally was thinking of going with some general grabbers but I found these Pirelli MTR's mounted for only 600.00 dollars +tax near where I live.
I have searched around and found very little information on them it seems like they are not normally offered in the US market everything online is from Russia/Australia/Africa but Walmart does have them listed on their site.
I like the Pirelli name but I am hesitant to get a tire with little to no reviews.
Does anyone know anything about these?

I have nothing but good things to say about Pirelli Scorpions. The last set I had on a mini truck, I ran them till they were bald and they still stayed aired up perfectly. I ran them for years and never an issue. Hope this helps.

I had a different kind of Pirellis on another vehicle. I purchased them from America's Tire and they had a 60,000 mile warranty and were quiet and handled great.

Pirelli is a good brand.

Remember installing Pirellis, maybe a set of Scorpions but more touring, on my old Pathfinder, maybe in 2005. Great tires, great grip, great warranty. Think I got 40K out of them and they were still in good shape when I sold him.

I am in the same boat as you and found really good deals on these.

I called every wholesaler retailer and distributor I know and apparently they aren't US Market tires.

The main Pirelli distributor here in socal hasn't heard of them but some local tire shops are stocking a bunch and selling them as a cheap alternate to the tons of federal couragia mt that are in the market right now also.

There has been a recent influx of these in the last month or so and they are apparently from the central American/South American market. Brazil to be exact from when I spoke to the last distributor who has a lot of them.

I just bought a set of Pirelli's for my Lexus and have more faith in the brand than any Taiwanese or Chinese Mud Terrain at the moment.

For the price I think its one of the top 3 tires im looking at right now. I mean it is a Pirelli and its E ply rated for the size you and I want so I think I may end up pulling the trigger.

Pirellis are mostly used in Europe, you'll find them on several high performance European automakers. I forget which ones... I know that occasionally you'll find a Porsche with Pirellis though.

I never owned these but I had Pirelli Scorpian A/T's on my T4R for many years & they were the best tires I ever owned.

uncle has them on his '15 lc and i had them on my '10 tacoma and they are like combining dura's and bfg a/ts together plus i got about 50k out of them so they last a bit too.:hatsoff:

Sorry to second guess you but are you sure they were the MTR's pictured above?
And not the Scorpion ATR like these:

If you got 50k from the MTR's, then thats truly incredible! Thats amazing life for such an aggressive tread pattern, I would incredibly happy to get 50k miles from a 600 dollar set of tires!

I would definitely ask what the weight is per tire.

54 - 59 is about standard for 285s. Anything higher ... stay away.

LT 265 / 75 R 16 NEW PIRELLI TIRES

M/T LT 265 75 16 PIRELLI SCORPION MTR NEW TIRES

I know one of the wholesalers as well. These are the 265's. There are a couple guys that got 200 sets each down in this area. All around the same going rate. Manufacture date on all are 2015. check the #scorpionmtr on ig there are a couple pics also.

They look like the old yokohama mt and the current kenda ones. Sidewalls don't look as buff as your typical open countries or trailgraps but for the price and 10ply, its very hard to over look.
