Places to Off-road near Cookeville, TN?

Hey guys picked up a Runner and I'm just wondering if there's any good places to off road near Cookeville? I know there's Golden Mountain, and out by Center Hill lake, but I'm always up to new places. Preferably legal. If this is posted in the wrong place feel free to move it. Thanks!

There is Windrock/Coal Creek in Oak Ridge outside Knoxville. Private park with $13 day pass I think? Also there are several places my way towards Chatt. ugamurph and I did Windrock in Feb. Need to get another ride together. Don't know your setup, but your options for trails are increased with a lift.

There are several places within a decent drive from you. Like [MENTION=88967]TNRunner99[/MENTION] said, Windrock is a fun place to go with all levels of difficulty. It has everything from gravel roads to "don't even think about it". There are also a few places closer to Chattanooga, one of which I have been to a couple of times and really enjoy.

I'd love to get an early to mid December ride together sometime. TNrunner99 and I have odd work schedules so it's difficult to get together.

Lifting your runner will definitely open up the off-roading opportunities for you.

Yeah right now I'm completely stock, but I hope to lift it over Christmas, I just don't know what lift I want. Thanks for the info! I've heard about windrock but have never been.

Yes, we need to get out again. I will have enough money saved once I get my next paycheck to purchase new tires and then I will get them mounted up. I will be set to get out and try them out. We should move this conversation over to the thread I started about wheeling around Chatt. that way everyone that responded over there can get word and maybe we could get a nice showing of rigs when we decide to go.

i want to get out and wheel my stock '12 TE. i'm planning on some budbuilt full skids and diff skid with some type of rocksliders in the very near future. I foresee a lift in my future, just not sure what to go with.

Sweet! The place by center hill lake is out past burgess falls, its been really sketchy the past few times I've gone out there and there's trash everywhere. And it's also illegal we found out. Haha. I don't really know of any other free legal places, I'd be down to go see what the stuff in standing stone state Forrest is like!
