Poll: Muffler Heat Shield Removal/Repair

Discovered today that the undercarriage rattling at idle and upon shutting the door on my '08 was, as suspected, heat shielding - specifically the rectangular aluminum cookie sheet that passes for heat shielding directly above the muffler.

So, to satisfy my curiosity as well as my desire to rip the damn thing out, it's time to hit the polls again, folks. (Just when you thought that was over.) Your participation's appreciated.

Please choose one of the following:

1. I haven't heard any rattling - either it's solid, the kids are yelling, or I blast the stereo while I drive.

2. I hear rattling but choose to ignore it, like ghosts, my spouse, and the voices in my head.

3. I repaired it using fender washers or other, but the chewing gum solution previously posted is highly overrated. (Please specify repair used in comments below.)

4. I ripped that sucker out, threw it on the burn pile, and danced around it's melting rattle-can carcass. (Photos welcome.)

Yup, last summer I repaired all of mine, and for that matter also my wife's 2010 corolla. Same thing on both vehicles. Easy enough, just a couple were tough to get to working around the muffler, etc. Took probably 20 minutes including finding washers and the right combinations of extensions and swivels.

Removed ALL of my heat shields years ago, after they became loose....don't miss them.
