POLL, # of FAMILY MEMBERS WHO FIT IN YOUR RUNNER

While I only have a wife, 1 child at the moment, we also have 3 dogs who regularly ride in our runner. Im wondering how many members you all have that ride in your runner so see just how practical this vehicle will be once we add the 2nd car seat. Thankfully with the rack on the roof I can fit an enormous amount. I just cannot get excited about the possibility of upgrading to a sequoia.

For the '97 4Runner...
Well, me of course, and the Wife ( it is HER truck after all )
Our Son, his Feance (sp?) and in a couple of months, a car seat with 1 child.
We have no dogs, but 4 cats and lots of squirrels, although it is rare any of the pets ride with us.
We are all comfortable

A couple of years ago, we did a trip from Orlando to Beckly WV & back for a funeral. 5 adult sized people and associated luggage. All in the '97 and quite comfortable.

Don't get me wrong, Sequoia's are nice, but a bit ugly in my opinion. A buddy of mine wheels the crap out of his and it is capable. Especially since he put a 1 ton Ford axle in the rear and a Dana 60 in the front.

When I was in highschool I would tote around 9 people including myself. Comfortably, on trips, 5(maybe an unlucky soldier in the back).

I wouldn't take more than four (including myself) on a trip in the 4runner.

I've had my wife and myself in the front seats, and 3 other 170lbs fighters in the back, plus all of our fight gear, food, and clothes. We travelled from Sudbury Ontario Canada to some Native Casino that borders Minnisota (12 - 13 hour drive)........it was cozy!

Sounds like Grand Portage, MN. I went down there many years ago from Thunder Bay to watch a kickboxing fight.

Max we have done is 7, normally 1, but on trips we do 5. The only time i don't drive it is when my dad is in the car, and rarely do i drive when he is in the car.

I took these early in the year...before he moved back to Virginia. The transformation is now complete.

He WAS going on a Moab trip last week when his transfer case crapped out in W. Va. Took the dealer for ever to get a replacement, so the trip was canceled

I'll see if I can get him to send me some completed pictures of his Sukoia.

That's where it was, and we were fighting in some amateur Full contact kickboxing. Actually, we fought against a bunch of guys from Thunderbay!

Around town, about 4 usually. Me and my brother (both of us just a little of 200lbs 6foot plus-sized fellows) and two buddies. Sometimes my golden retriever inhabits the space behind the second row and loves the view

Illegally speaking, i have had to pick up approx 9 from a particularly rambunctious party with the 5-0 crawling all over the place. Good thing the 4runner is one of the toughest vehicles around cause that load would slay many of my friends camrys haha

7 people in 4Runner: 5 adults and 2 kids.

10 people in GX: 6 adults and 4 kids.

Both were in NYC. Don't think would be very comfortabel for the long haul.

For the usual crew - my wife, myself, and 2 boys (1 is in car seat) - either truck offers PLENTY of room.

Well, for the longest time we only had the 4runner that I would take on long trips all my cars were a-b work cars and I would not trust them on a long trip. Counting my wife and 3 kids we always have 5 total. My 98 was bought new in June 1998 and my oldest is 12 so for the longest it was 2 kids and a car seat in the back with the ocassional booster seat and car seat during those transition years. I would say if it was me and my comfort I would not put 3 grown adult (180lb + men) in the back for a long trip. We live in the Atlanta Ga area and have always taken the 4runner to Disney and the beach and with the kids its always been a reasonbly comfortable trip for them. I have transported 6 (2 adults and 4 kids) in a pinch but thats no seatbealts and not very safe. At the beach I have had 8 (all adults) two-three in the cargo but thats what crusing was all about and they never seemed to complain of course the scenary was to nice to complain too much anyways. :girl:

IDK about that, you would be surprised at how many "illegal aliens" can fit in a camry.
