Poly motor mounts?

Does anyone make poly motor mounts for a 3.4L? I'm looking for a set for my Taco and I really don't wanna do all metal solid mounts. I called LC Engineering, apparently they used to make them but stopped a few years ago.

I'd stick with factory. Poly mounts would transmit more vibrations.

More vibrations yes, less power loss and less motor rocking also yes.

Trail gear makes a set for tacoma 3.4's they should fit the 4runner. good way to check if find part numbers for oem 4runner motor mounts and see if they match the oem tacoma stuff

I'm actually looking for a set for my Tacoma.

And wow you're right! I thought these mounts were metal on metal turns out they have a poly bushing inside, thanks!!!

Have you ran poly motor mounts before? I have and would never again unless it was a drag only car.

I agree with this. Had poly motor mounts in my Chevy Cavalier (don't ask, I was young & dumb). I would never consider poly mounts again for street application.

Get fresh OEM mounts would be my suggestion to minimize engine movement/power transfer loss.

Yeah my old DD turned drag turbo Talon has removed balance shafts, poly motor/trans mounts, paired with 4 puck unsprung ceramic clutch its a nightmare on the street.

Do people break motor mounts in the 4runners when out playing hard ?

while I have never run poly mounts on a Toyota, I have on several cars, of course none were stock (car) but the vibrations were not worth it to me on a street car ( would run them on the engine and tranny mounts) but on my autocross BMW's with all the other mods, on the track, the extra vibrations were not that noticeable until I was on the street and not drifting etc.

Our v-6's seem to be a pretty smooth running engine, so maybe the vibrations would not be that bad

then again, IM not out there with a supercharger, torqueing the crap out of it on a steep hill climb etc.

I have not in any of my vehicles but my most of my Jeep friends run them with no noticeable issues in their inline 6's that vibrate much more than our little 3.4's. I'd rather suffer a little vibration than break another motor mount out on the trail. Being in some of those canyons this weekend would really suck trying to get out of with a broken motor mount. I got lucky and broke mine trying to get into the canyon, rather than getting out.

I just order a set of Trail Gear Bomb Proof Motor Mounts for the 1st gen Tacoma's. Part #186040-1-KIT Bomb Proof Motor Mount Kit - Trail Gear We will see if they work or not. If it sucks that bad I guess I could always go back to rubber.

Damn! Those are some serious mounts. Pretty pricey but may be worth it if offroading that hard. If I had dual cases and a supercharger, I would consider those.

I had no trail fix besides a very light foot. I kept in in 2wd stayed away from throttling hard. When in 4Lo with a litte amount of throttle, the engine moved so much that it would pull the intake boot apart and loose all power. If I had to get out of any steep hills I would have been ****ed. Luckily where we were at was a wash all the way back.
