Do the AC compressor mounting bracket bolts on 3.4 need to have sealer on them

Hey guys,

A few months ago I did a timing belt water pump job on my 1999 v6 using the Aisin kit. I removed the AC compressor and it's mounting bracket for more room. I know I don't need to remove it, but that's how we did it before on my sons 4runner when we did this job a year ago ( I own 4 of these 3rd gen 4runners). Anyway, I noticed on the front passenger side I saw coolant dripping down from the AC compressor area and around that front differential mount. Was wondering if the leak could be coming from bolts on the AC mounting bracket. I didn't use any sealer when installing them. I'm hoping that is the issue as I really don't want to replace the water pump again. Does anyone know?

Thanks for quick response. I guess I'll have to look into this a little deeper.

You should be able to pull the timing belt cover back enough to see if it's the water pump.

I hope so and hopefully it's not the pump, but not sure what else it could be. It's the Aisin pump with metal gasket. I guess I could have gotten defective or counterfeit one.
