Poor mans lift kit

For under a $100 give your truck a 3" lift. Paint the rockers black with bedliner giving it the visual appearance that you have more height.

In all seriousness, here is the finished product of new Nerf bars and a Monstaliner coated rocker panels.

Almost got way to interested in this. My buddy has a modded Xterra so I spend a fair amount of time on Xterra forums and there is a thing for those trucks called a Poor Mans Lift (PML) that gives a 1.5" lift for about $65. But in all seriousness the truck looks sweet with the colored rockers. Take the nerf bars off and add some kickout sliders and you'll still have steps and look even taller!

now it looks like you have a huge gap between the rockers and the nerf bars. I'd take off the nerf bars now.

Plus the front and rear bumpers weren't changed so it looks sorta disproportionate haha

I only needed 1qt for both rockers and the trailer hitch. I probably had enough left over to do one bumper. So why didn't I do them? Both are in poor shape. The next mod in the spring will be to replace them for black bumpers and coat them both in Monstaliner. 1Qt was about $50 with two rollers.

As for the nerf bars, I got veto'd. All the short people in my life liked the extra step to get in. My original plan was to ditch the running boards altogether. Then coat the rockers and bumpers black.
