FWIW, desert season in CA runs from Halloween to Easter. Anytime before or after can see temps well over triple digits.

exactly. I live about 30 mins from cougar buttes, and it is way to hot to go wheeling there in the summer

JohnsD90 probably wouldn't want to try any of the Johnson Valley trails in his 4runner anyways, they're a bit on the difficult side (if you can't tell from the pics). At least a lift and a rear locker are mandatory. Let us know when you'll be here though John, we can find lots of trails that you'd have fun on (and izzardking too).

I did pretty good. Had to stack some rocks a few times and got pulled a couple times. Mostly because I broke a CV and didn't bring my 2nd spare like I normally do. I was very conservative after the breakage. The gas tank and lower links were killing me on alot of the obstacles. 35s would have been real nice and I think it would have been a different story.

I broke my parking brake bracket, dented passenger side doors(avoidable), blew a cv, and have a strange noise coming from the drivers side suspension area.

LOL. Let me just fix this damage and get a couple replacement axles and I will be ready to run it.

I also forgot to mention I was two-footing it so hard I got the ATF OIL light to come on.

3200 miles / 12.4 mpg = 258 gallons x $3 per = $774 x 2 ways = $1548 in gas on the KM2s
3200 miles / 17mpg = 188 gallons x $3 per = $564 x 2 ways = $1129 in gas using my highway tires

wow $400 difference? that's like food for the entire trip! I need somewhere to put the KM2s though...maybe one of those hitch baskets? hmmm...

Brian- no panhard drop bracket? that might be why you're on the tank skid so much...gotta center that axle!
