Possible Group Buy on Gobi Tailgate ladder

Anyone interested in a possible group buy on the Gobi Tailgate ladder for $200 shipped? I contacted this ebay seller and he stated he could sell the Gobi ladders for $200 (including shipping)

yes I agree, the price is steep but I offered him $150 and he said no. Lowest he said would be $200. I am just seeing if people are interested, nothing is obviously set in stone/confirmed.

Sorry but I couldn't understand your post MAD69 because of the typo...are you saying it does or does not look good? I like it because it would give the rear of my 4runner a more aggressive look (I was looking into taillight guards but they themselves are 50 bucks) so I thought the ladder would be better in comparison.

Sorry Senator, I'm using an iPhone and it's too small for my fingers - I think the ladder does look cool, I like the expedition look on these trucks along with the roof rack but I think it's a bit too expensive for a cosmetic mod.

I'm glad people are pointing out that these are mostly cosmetic add-ons. Yeah, you could probably climb right up it if you wanted, but never in the 4 years I've owned my 'Runner have I ever needed a ladder to access anything stowed on the roof near the back. I just stand on the rear bumper, or the rear tire(s). Not to mention the lift struts probably have a harder time keeping the gate open with the extra weight.

The only use for these that I can see would be if you had a roof top tent.. but I think those might come with ladders? I don't know. To each, their own.

From my understanding I thought these ladders were ONLY cosmetic - I don't think they will hold the weight of a 200 lb. man?

I have put all my mods(cosmetic) on hold, with the price of gas going up 10 cents per gallon a day (currently at $3.80 a gallon) and showing no signs of stopping I see no extra money for luxuries such as bigger tires or new sound systems - sh!t I only use AM radio anyway! And I guess I'll be sticking to the stock tire size for the time being. I couldn't imagine spending money on some of these things these guys are talking about on the forum recently. I would like a ladder and a Tacoma skid if I were to find one very cheap though...

Well I've got a Baja ladder and my buddy who is 240 gets on it without a problem, no movement. Not sure about Gobi's but it can't be much different
