Possible Project in Scottsdale?

Found this 'runner while I was visiting Scottsdale last week. 4WD, V6, manual trans. Body is straight, interior looked OK from what I could see through the dust.

Last registered '09, has markings from an impound yard from 2010. Hasn't been moved from where it sits in all that time. Neighbors in the complex want it gone but aren't sure who owns it. With any luck it's registered to someone in the complex.

It's going to need a lot of work because it's been sitting so long, and likely had issues when it was parked, but it might make a good project or even a good parts car for someone with the skilz.

It seems that the HOA board of this complex knows who the owner is, who still resides there. He "loves" his truck. I've been discussing the situation with the HOA board, they don't seem to care that it hasn't been registered in 6 years. Don't know if he is feeding me a line??

What do you guys think?

Not worth it when the owner will put some astronomical number on it for the condition it's in. People like that are the *******'s who ruin classic cars. They refuse to let go until it's not worth holding onto anymore.

I missed a 67 Mustang GT fastback to a guy like that. I was 16 years old, now 11 years later, it's still sitting there. Totally trashed and he has a for sale sign on it. 4runner's aren't rare or hard to find. I'd keep your efforts minimal personally.

It's already been impounded once. I don't know why the HOA lets him keep it there. But whatever. I'm surprised that it hasn't been taken from him more than once. It's gotta be illegal to keep a vehicle like that there.
