Is that still for sale? I had my friend look at it when I was shopping around and he said it was terrible thought, if I was closer id pick it up for that price, thats cheap for what it its!!
98, 5 speed, sunroof, all power. Now has the factory e-locker. I had rear bearings/axle seals go out and I found a whole rear-end (brake shoes to brake shoes) with the e-locker for $450.

Traded a 2001 F-250 that I paid $1000 for straight across for it at my local Toyota dealer!

i really envy you 3rd gen owners that have leather and a manual transmission. i wish manual transmission havent gone the way of the dodo

^^^ I'm with you there. It's an embarrassment to have such a great truck not even be available with a manual after 2000.
I'm not one to settle. I don't let car manufacturers dictate what I drive. So many people say, "Oh, I would've preferred a manual, but Toyota only has automatics for this model, so that's what I bought." I say, BS to that!
I'm currently looking for a manual 4Runner and admittedly, my first option would be a 4-door gen 1 Taco. But they made zero manuals of those in the US. Will I buy an automatic? Heck no.
On with the search. Really hard when all you want is a manual.

its an american thing, i am a huge VW/Audi fan and i was looking to get a Tiguan for a little while and in euro spec you can get a manual transmission in ever trim level/engine. here in the americas your only manual option is a stripped down model with no luxury options and the 2.0T and FWD.
I had this exact combo in the Tacoma.... I think it was more common over there if you are looking for one.

Seats sucked. Seriously. That Tacoma had the worst seats I have ever experienced... and they were the "upgrade" from the factory bench. I ripped them out and put the seats I pulled from a 2nd gen runner.
Anyway. If you want a 3.4 v6 Toyota with Diff lock and are struggling to find it in a runner, the Tacoma may be easier to get a hold of.

I know what you mean man. I am a big fan of tdi's but the ones over here are very stripped down compared to the ones in Europe. When I go on to ebay uk and see all the cool options offered in Tdi's over there makes me so jealous. Too bad it is such a pain in the ass to import cars here.
