We've got storage/drawer threads, various build threads, camping threads, etc...

I'd love for this thread to be a consolidated space for camping kitchen setups. How did you build yours into your 5th gen-based camping rig? Do you use nested drawer slides? A folding table on a tire carrier? Is your kitchen on an adventure trailer? Or something else entirely?

At this point, I'm at step one with the following:

• Camp Chef Everest stove,
• a few mini propane bottles,
• and a super cheap Igloo cooler, and it all gets set up on an
• Alps Mountaineering Table

We keep the rest of the camp kitchenware in a Plano 1919 Sportsman's Trunk. I bought 3 of these. They come with a weatherstripping channel in the lid, but no weatherstrip, so a little DIY is in order for sealing the rain out.

Pros: My setup is simple and requires no mods to the truck.
Cons: It's a little too simple for what I'm wanting out of it. It requires more unpacking and setup than I'd like. I'd love a fridge, a prep surface that slides out of some drawers (that I have yet to build) or folds down on a bumper (that I have yet to buy), and kitchenware storage inside the 4R. I want to upgrade to something that may require some building out of the 4R.

I'm a portable kitchen guy, but I really like seeing people's awesome builds.

Lately, my "kitchen" has been a Skottle or a backpacking stove, a pot for boiling water, and a portable table of some sort. I do most food prep in advance and work on making cleanup and dealing with trash as simple as possible. I do have an ARB fridge in 24/7, and usually have the backpacking stove and some Mountain House bags in my "go" box in the back for SHTF emergencies.

I have several of the Plano 1819s which fit very nicely in the cargo area of the 4R, but I've been wanting to grab a few 1919s for the roof rack.

How do you like that Alps table? I've been looking at that, and some other ones, trying to find something more portable than one my Lifetime molded tables, as awesome as they are. Does that Alps make a lot of rattling noise in use?

90% of the time I just use a jetboil and a campfire, but as soon as dometic releases the small version of their slide out kitchen I may get it. here's the big one:

I'm super basic.
I have the Camp Chef Everest stove, a GSI Bugaboo Large cookset, and a combination of REI and Ikea utensils and bowls/plates.
Will probably go bigger once the boy is a bit older.

How do you like that Alps table? I've been looking at that, and some other ones, trying to find something more portable than one my Lifetime molded tables, as awesome as they are. Does that Alps make a lot of rattling noise in use?

The Alps table makes a lot of noise when you're setting it up, but once it's rolled out and mounted to the frame, it's not too bad.

I've never had it set up in high winds, though. I imagine that rattling would be the least of your worries as this table is extremely lightweight and seems like it would blow over pretty easily.

Classic (it's almost as old as I am) Coleman white gas stove and a folding picnic table I got from Costco. I miss my 2nd gen's built-in table.

I built this platform with the slide out. I use an Everest BC stove and I also have an Alp mountaineering table. The slide will support about 25-30lbs.

Camp fire, Coleman Matchlight stove, and one of these REI roll top aluminum camp tables. The aluminum is nice because we can set hot things and cook right on it with no worries and it packs up pretty compactly.

If you end up getting a fridge, this is a pretty cool fridge slide that has an integrated cutting board. This may be the route I go when/if I get a slide for my ARB fridge. It’s the same price as the ARB fridge slide. They make them for Donetic and Engel fridges as well.

I have no rattling at all in my setup. This is one of the reasons I avoided drawers. The platform is bolted to the body. I have L track on my platform so it’s completely modular but everything can be secured with straps.

This is my sticking point right here. (Maybe I'll be in a band again some day!) I can have my stuff gutted and the regular cargo space available in less than two minutes. Drawers would be awesome for access, but my system is designed around modular "bricks" of the Plano 1719 bins to adjust my loadout quickly, and it's not hard to get access to a bottom bin quickly.

Here's an old photo I have. I can fit up to four of those Plano bins in the space next to the fridge.

I have no need for storage/drawers, nor could I probably stand the noise they create anyway, ha!

Some of these, like you stated yours is, look like they're sturdy and rattle "proof". If I had to do something, I would definitely stick to modular/bolted down stuff.

Agreed. I can’t stand squeaking. Plus, I don’t like how drawers (essentially) permanently take up usable charge space. For me at least, I don’t always need to be carrying around 110lbs of recovery gear. I have a kid and we are also in to other sports so versatility in my opinion is better than a permanent drawer system.
