Premium fuel ?

I noticed the manual for my 2004 4.0 V6 recommends premium fuel, I have been using regular for years, is there a real reason to run the higher octane fuel?

Thanks for the info, looks like I might as well stick with regular fuel, looks like no real benefit. My location charges extra .20 cents more for premium.
